As a guy, you never forget your first band.
And, Johnny Depp is no exception.
He did a 90 minute set at the 2,800 seat Club Cinema with his bandmates from The Kids, a power pop group formed in 1978 when Depp was a South Florida high schooler.
Depp’s set supported the second annual Sheila Witkin Memorial Reunion Concert, honouring The Kids’ late manager, who was well known in South Florida’s music scene.
All proceeds from the benefit go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs.
The 45-year-old actor joined The Kids when he was a high school student in Miramar, Florida moving to Los Angeles with them in search of a record deal.
Depp decided to pursue his acting career following their subsequent break-up, before the group reunited in 2007 for the cause.
I think all of us are happy that everybody’s favorite Pirate found acting.
And, even happier he didn’t find these guys …….
Ok, maybe sometimes you do forget your first band!
It’s a musical thing!
